A Very Unsettling Release Date Is Set For The MediEvil Remake
With very little information or footage released since its first announcement, the remake of the PS1 cult classic MediEvil was one of the more unexpected revelations made at PSX 2017. But Sony promised a closer look at the remake when they revealed their most recent State of Play webcast, and they delivered on that promise. We not only got to see the game in action, but we also found out when it would be released.
In the action-adventure hack 'n slash game MediEvil, you take on the role of Sir Daniel Fortesque, the skeleton you see participating in the game. It was rather shocking to see this being redone when it was first released in the West in 1998, but thus far it seems terrific.
A narrative trailer aimed at introducing new players to MediEvil was one of the additional details that were promised during today's PlayStation State of Play presentation. Despite being a narrative trailer, it also has a ton of amazing gameplay scenes that, from what we can see so far, seem amazing.
In addition, the video serves as a release date announcement for the game. Sony said that the PS4 would be the only platform on which the MediEvil reboot will be available starting on October 25. Given that you take on the role of a skeleton in the game, this release date seems perfect for it to coincide with Halloween.
