The Top 14 Shonen Manga Battles, Ordered
The Top 14 Shonen Manga Battles, Sorted
The buzz surrounding Shueisha's manga, especially Weekly Shonen Jump, is almost difficult to ignore because of the book's epic conflicts. The following bouts are listed from best to worst, and there are many more exceptional manga out there that are sure to endure beyond just the Shonen Big Three.
Remember that we are assessing printed manga here, not animation. The top battles are all rated below; however, be aware that spoilers are coming!
14. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Naruto vs. Isshiki
Although many people choose Naruto and Sasuke vs. Momoshiki as their favorite Boruto fights, I think this one stands out as an incredible demonstration that almost sprang off the page. The stakes in this battle were very high, and Kurama gave Naruto a last-ditch advantage in the form of Baryon Mode. Isshiki's life force can suddenly be depleted by coming into touch with the energy produced by Kurama and Naruto's united chakra.
There was a serious disadvantage to this power-up, however. It was a sacrifice gesture since it was inevitable that Kurama and Naruto would exhaust one or both of their chakras. However, it worked in reverse, buying Isshiki time while taking it away, limiting his life to just a few minutes. For aficionados of Shonen manga, it's one of the finest battles in the Boruto manga, but it's also really thrilling to see in the anime.
13. Star and Stripe in My Hero Academia vs. Shigaraki
The top professional athlete in America goes in for the kill against a formidable foe. This battle has some very deadly passages in which Star, among other things, attempts to suffocate her opponent by creating a vacuum. The stakes for later in the series are raised when Shigaraki experiences a fusion of his mind with All For One during these scenes.
The battle has some very amazing visuals, such as Shigaraki being battered by an air construct at one point. However, even with Star's fighter jet squadron behind her, they would still have to destroy every particle of him in order to beat him in this battle, which would prove to be a fatal task. Although it reads quite quickly, it's an absolute delight.
12. One Piece: Zoro vs. Kuma
I could have fun answering this entry with the standard one-sentence, "Nothing happened." But to be honest, this exchange between Kuma and Zoro offered a lot of interesting information about each character. In this scene from Chapter 485, Kuma was shown to be a Pacifista with an artificial body, while Zoro's devotion to Luffy was solidified as really iconic.
The concept was straightforward: either Luffy had to die, or someone had to suffer in his stead. Zoro knocked Sanji's attempt at an offer away. Even with his current wounds, Zoro would be expected to bear the brunt of Luffy's suffering, which would likely end in his death. But as you may already be aware, the end consequence was a bloodstained badass who stood at death's door without ever opening it. All he could say when asked what had occurred was, "Nothing at all!"
11. Akaza (Demon Slayer) vs. Rengoku
For many people, this recollection is bittersweet. Many fans praised Rengoku, the Fire Hashira, for his distinctive look and proclaimed him to be the greatest character in Demon Slayer. In a way, his battle with Akaza resembled his fighter Swan Song, the Flame Tiger vs the Upper Ranks.
This fight just had to make the list in a series famed for its breathtaking graphics and dramatic battles against bad powers. With every step he does to defend the innocent, it is the pinnacle of the Mugen Train Arc. This would make the surviving characters even more powerful, but it was a terrible day for fans worldwide.
10. Äs Nödt vs Rukia (Bleach)
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the closest thing a Shonen manga adaption can get to perfection. However, one of the most enlightening experiences for viewers was seeing Rukia, who had been absent from the screen for a while, had everyone captivated to the television. Its original source was maybe more understated but no less fascinating.
Äs Nödt, also referred to as "The Fear," is a Stern Ritter, while Rukia, the captain of the 13th Division and the master of Sode no Shirayuki, is in another corner. In their last encounter, her ice talents proved invaluable as they served as a crucial defense against Äs Nödt's fear-based assaults, which were stopped in the most straightforward manner possible—by freezing her body into a brief state of death.
.The scene in which she unleashed her bankai was exquisitely rendered in the newly released TYBW anime Part 2. As she is revealed in her icy form, there is only one word that can adequately describe this moment: "QUEEN."
9. Yusuke vs. Yu Yu Hakusho's Younger Toguro
Yu Yu Hakusho left behind an amazing legacy. It has influenced so many modern television shows, including Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen, that it is even mentioned as having influenced the development of Bungo Stray Dogs. It is also receiving a live-action Netflix adaptation. Because of the series' adept handling of strength levels, we saw how far protagonist Yusuke Urameshi had gone when he faced off against Younger Toguro. When Yusuke first learned how to use the Spirit Gun, he could only fire it once per day. His training under his guru Genkai had him deliberately limit his spirit energy at the beginning of the bout in this competition. In the meanwhile, Younger Toguro was initially holding back in order to find a quality opponent. One of the greatest, most captivating, and strikingly beautiful battle scenes from classic Shonen manga is the outcome.
But when he's forced to transform into his enormous, outrageously overmuscled form to give Yusuke the battle of his life in the Dark Tournament, the bargain he and his elder brother struck, granting them both otherworldly abilities, would prove to be worth the investment. Readers of manga from the 1990s could not stop talking about the combat that followed because Toguro could unleash bursts of air powerful enough to strike like bullets with only a simple flick of his thumb. It doesn't hurt that excellent artwork showing Toguro in his monster state can be seen in several of his panels.
8. My Hero Academia's Shoto vs. Dabi
A vicious sibling rivalry is sparked by Dabi's identity and relationship to Shoto; she is not the only one on this list. However, the manga's Chapter 352 encounter between them is very unique, with some amazing panels and poignant Shoto character growth.
For the most part of the series, Shoto was also seen as a bit of a recluse, although he acknowledged that Class A was always there to support him. His victories in this war would change the course of the larger conflict around him and win him the admiration and respect of all those in the vicinity. The Todoroki brothers got into a beautiful, yet worrisome, quarrel.
7. Gojo vs. Sukuna (Kaizen Jujutsu)
Ryomen Sukuna vs Satoru Gojo: the greatest sorcerer in history versus the greatest sorcerer in the present. Fans of the Culling Game are still in shock at the outcome of this encounter, which was memorialized in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. But after more than 200 chapters, it was finally revealed to be one of the greatest Shonen manga battles ever, so it was well worth the wait.
But, given it's a very recent arc that has exploded on social media, I advise reading up on it beforehand before viewing any of the major spoilers.
6. Itachi vs. Sasuke (Naruto)
Since the manga's early chapters, readers have eagerly awaited the brothers' fateful fight, which is why its panels have endured to this day. For a considerable amount of the series, Sasuke Uchiha had a legendary grudge against Itachi, a lethal Akatsuki member, and you may expect them to go all out in their showdown.
A collision of Sharingan eye users resulted in a battle smorgasbord of ninjutsu, taijutsu, and and genjutsu in this encounter. Amaterasu, the Sword of Totsuka, Yata Mirror, and other techniques that would appear later were all included in this visual feast. It was heartbreaking, too, since the two brothers knew that one of them would have to die, and when Sasuke finds out the truth about the Uchiha Clan tragedy, he would be heartbroken by the weight Itachi has carried throughout his life.
5. Muzan, the Demon Slayer, opposes The Demon Slayers
When it comes to building to a thrilling fight, none is more notable than the confrontation with Demon Slayer, the game's primary antagonist. The last two story arcs of the series had two distinct portions to this encounter. The Hashiras, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and others engage in combat with the franchise's main antagonists here.In an effort to permanently neutralize Muzan's menace, several combatants here lose their lives. Some become disfigured or changed. When this is ever translated into anime, the sheer variety of fighting styles and methods used in this bout will probably result in a wonderful visual cacophony of colors and patterns.
