Iron Man VR by Marvel to Be Exclusive to the PlayStation VR
The inaugural PlayStation State of Play webcast, which is Sony's version of a Nintendo Direct or Inside Xbox, took place yesterday night. Marvel's Iron Man VR, one of the most anticipated announcements from this presentation, was a brand-new, PSVR-only game featuring one of the most well-known superheroes of the modern day.
You can view the one and a half minutes of gameplay they have provided us so far in the clip below, which was posted to the official PlayStation YouTube channel after the event. According to the teaser, we see Tony Stark taking off in his own plane and experiencing this in first person. The evil Ghost, who appeared as the antagonist in the most recent Ant-Man & The Wasp film, briefly takes control of the stream when he is chatting with his AI Friday. He then tries to crash his jet and send Tony hurtling out of it.
At this point, he activates his Iron Man suit, and some activity is shown, beginning with Iron Man's HUD. Simply because it will give us the impression that we are within the costume, this should be a delight to experience. The next part of the video features some battle using the PlayStation Move controllers, with each controller representing one of Iron Man's hands. It says that in order to play at all, you need to have two Move controllers.
The only release timeframe mentioned was sometime in 2019, so maybe a forthcoming PlayStation State of Play event may provide further information.
