A life-sized BB pod and the Death Stranding Collector's Edition are revealed.
After Hideo Kojima revealed the game a few years back, Death Stranding has been one of the most anticipated new releases. While many had not anticipated the game's release this year, Kojima Productions and PlayStation surprised us with a number of announcements this morning, including the release date we previously shared with you. Furthermore, many Death Stranding versions were shown, one of which is a very unique Collector's Edition that will undoubtedly be in high demand.
Death Stranding comes in a variety of versions, each with a different pricing and set of goodies beyond the standard version. The first is the Special Edition, which retails for $69.99 and comes with a steelbook case, unique Gold "Ludens Mask" sunglasses that can be earned during gameplay, a digital download of the soundtrack, and a behind-the-scenes movie that shows how the music was made.
The Death Stranding Digital Deluxe Edition is available for $79.99, an additional $10, and includes everything from the previous edition with the exception of a steelbook case, ten PSN character avatars, and three exclusive items that can only be obtained through gameplay: a Gold Power Skeleton, a Gold All-Terrain Skeleton, and a Gold Armor Plate (Level 2).
And then, there is the $199.99 Death Stranding Collector's Edition, which is both the most costly and the greatest of the lot. Along with the steelbook case and everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition, you also receive a life-sized BB Pod statue, a Ludens keychain, and a BRIDGES Cargo Case to store it all.
Although the Death Stranding Collector's Edition is pricey, it seems like an incredible bundle overall. As we've seen before, we'll have to wait until the game launches to find out whether the high price is really justified.
