The Ascent, a Chic Co-op Sci-Fi RPG, Will Be Available in July.
We now officially know when we can play The Ascent, a neon-soaked shooter and a cyberpunk role-playing game by Neon Giant. The Ascent, which was shown in a new video, is set to debut in July.
You may remember the title from the Xbox Showcase previous year, when we saw the crammed, Diablo-style cooperative shooter for the first time. We now know more about the idea driving the game forward than we did before it was revealed. This is the publisher Curve Digital's synopsis:
"Massive corporation Everyone, including you, is owned by the Ascent Group, which has recently fallen apart. Is it possible for you to live without it? Rival firms are attempting to force appropriation, while criminal organizations are eager to expand their black-market augmentation trade, posing a danger to your district's future. To prevent them from taking over, you have to pick up weapons and set out on a fresh quest to discover what caused it all."
It shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that The Ascent won't be getting a PlayStation release, considering its attendance at the Xbox Showcase. On launch day, Neon Digital will integrate their independent game onto Microsoft's well-liked Xbox Game Pass. But it's available individually on Steam or the Microsoft Store for a fair $30.
On July 29, The Ascent will be available for download on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
