Elden Ring: What Do the Yellow Lines Indicate Around Grace Sites on the Map?
It would be an understatement to say that the open world of Elden Ring is large. The map fills a full screen, it's that large! Between the field bosses, the catacombs, and everything else in the Lands Between, it's really simple to become lost. In essence, FromSoftware declared, "This is the game; you figure it out." While this is a positive thing, some players are finding it difficult to understand some aspects of the terrain. More precisely, they want to know what the yellow and gold lines on the map near the Sites of Grace represent. This is the true meaning of those lines on your map.
What Does Elden Ring's Yellow Line Mean?
The next target on the map in Elden Ring is indicated by the gold lines. In the legend, they are referred to as the Guidance of Grace, and they assist Tarnished on their travels. Simply follow those lines if you ever find yourself stopped, and you'll quickly get back on track.
It extends outside the map as well. Some Ste of Graces will emit a golden dust trail into the heavens when you lie down at one. Not all of them do that, only those that point to a specific game landmark that might lead to a dungeon or potential quest do. The game doesn't explicitly hold your hand, but it does provide you with a task log and a UI element that indicates where you need to go next.
The trade-off is that you have to satisfy your curiosity in order to find new items to gather, monsters to defeat, and morsels of information. The bare minimum of guidance in the right way is provided by these gold lines. You have the option. If you don't follow the lines, you won't be prevented from moving forward either.
To be honest, if you're heading east toward Caelid and start to see the Sites of Grace display the lines as well, it may become a little confusing. The proper path to follow in order to complete the game's main plot is to go north from Limgrave, passing through Stormveil, the Raya Lucaria Academy, and so on.Those lines will remain visible after you finish a section. Using the map's marker choices to indicate whether you have eliminated all of the boss and one-time pickups in an area is the only practical method to stay on top of things. For the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series S/X, and PC, Elden Ring is now available.
