With the recent developments in the manga and the grand turning point of the series, the Shibuya Incident, finally being adapted during the second half of season 2, fans of Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen are emotionally spent.

Nevertheless, fans may exhale with relief, as Jujutsu Kaisen is now officially in its last narrative arc.

From the start, the Shinjuku Showdown Arc has been a high-stakes finale

Though Jujutsu Kaisen has never held back when it comes to character deaths, graphic story turns, and the persistent dangers posed by cursed spirits, the Shinjuku Showdown arc has established itself as a boundary-pushing story that goes beyond what JJK fans can tolerate. While fending off Sukuna, the series has said farewell to a number of legendary figures, including Gojo Satoru, who was once regarded as the strongest.

This set up a spectacular turn whereby Yuta Okkotsu used Kenjaku's cursed method to take control of Gojo's body, setting up a "true" ultimate confrontation with the King of Curses.

The series' original creator, Gege Akutami, verified the long-held speculation among fans that the Shinjuku Showdown arc would be the grand finale of the series during a Q&A at the Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition in Shibuya Hikarie, Japan. Devoted viewers of the series should start getting ready for the finale, along with the announcement that the show will not be participating in the next Jump Festa event.
