Fans are shocked as Blizzard finally reveals the Canon Age for every hero in Overwatch 2.

The canon ages and birthdays have been added to each Hero's unique page in the most recent version of the official Overwatch 2 website. While the ages of the majority of the original Heroes have been known since the first Overwatch game launched, this is the first time that the ages of new heroes, including Illari, Junker Queen, and Kiriko, have been revealed.

It goes without saying that this has spurred some fascinating conversations on X (previously Twitter), from enthusiastic tweets about zodiac signs to arguments on timeline consistency. In official Overwatch rankings, this ranks Orisa as the youngest character and Sigma as the oldest. Illari is the youngest, unless you don't consider animals or Omnics, in which case you should be more understanding to our artificial colleagues.

Inconsistency in the timeline

Certain characters in the Overwatch timeline have definitely created a stir, but certain characters—Ashe, I'm looking at you—look a bit too good for their age. Above everything, Kiriko.
Given her manner and demeanor, Kiriko's reported age of twenty-one years seems appropriate. She must have trained with the Shimada brothers when they were younger—they are, respectively, thirty-seven and forty years old—because that doesn't fit. The math isn't adding up.
A lot of official Overwatch material features Hanzo, Genji, and Kiriko together in their youth, as @kataikou notes in the post above. It's clear that Kiriko is younger than the other two, but the difference in age isn't sixteen years. The fact that Sojourn is older has also raised some dubious questions. According to @ClearTogether, Sojourn's twin sister was only fourteen years old when her kid was born, despite her stated age of forty-seven. Additionally, as mentioned by @katieshouldcos, this implies that Vivian served as a military officer throughout her adolescence.
Despite a several disputed birth dates, I'm ecstatic to finally know when Hammond's birthday is officially observed. The fact that he eats books doesn't bother me; in my heart, he's a wonderful child. Many other Overwatch fans, particularly those who like Junkrat, are equally happy to finally know the birthdays of their beloved characters. Some of you exist, I know that.
