 Jul 23, 2024
Today saw the direct release of The Ascent on Game Pass, with both standard and secret achievements. This sci-fi RPG shooter game from Curve Digital was unveiled during the E3 2021 games showcase, With 46 achievements to be unlocked, a good fifteen of which are hidden. This kind of accomplishment concealment is often used to avoid giving away plot details in the description, so be prepared for some minor plot twists.

Nothing on this accomplishment list sticks out as especially horrible; it's a rather basic list including narrative achievements, collectible achievements, cumulative achievements, and a few other random ones. This game should be an enjoyable and relatively simple 1000G for lovers of role-playing games. With the probable exception of "Next Level AI" and "Appreciation," the hidden accomplishments all seem to be connected to the plot, but the cumulative achievements, such "Getting out of the slums" and "Suicidal," seem to happen automatically without any thought.

You can play The Ascent right now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
