The majority of Square Enix's plans are in place before the Final Fantasy VII remake launches.
The majority of people had anticipated that Square Enix will reveal additional details regarding the Final Fantasy VII Remake during their previously scheduled E3 webcast the following month. Sony, on the other hand, shocked everyone with a new trailer during their State of Play presentation earlier, which we already informed you about. This implied that further details will be released soon, but the language in their after-event Facebook post suggested that the game may not be as far off as we had previously assumed.
The same clip and a statement from director Tetsuya Nomura were shared on the official Final Fantasy VII Facebook page shortly after the State of Play webcast. Despite the message's seeming simplicity, one particular aspect of it appeared to stick out.
"Please be patient with us a little longer until we can release more information next month, as the majority of the plans are already in place in the lead-up to launch."The comment at the conclusion of the video indicating more to come in June gave us an early hint that further details will be revealed at E3 the following month. This statement does, however, explicitly mention that the majority of the preparations for the launch have already been completed. Given how silent Square Enix has been regarding the game, you wouldn't expect that would be the case if it was still a few years or more away.
It's evident that the initial part of the strategy is to provide us with fresh information via the Square Enix stream during E3, but is it really possible for them to provide us with a release window or date? Given that they will have most of their ideas finalized before launch, I believe a release timeframe is not completely out of the question.
Following the long production of Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix's next big project is the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake. Final Fantasy VII Remake may be one of the last big releases before the new platform launches, if the PlayStation 5 is really scheduled for release at some point in the next year.
We'll just have to wait and see what Square Enix has to say when they broadcast live from E3 on Monday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. PT.
