Including amusing asides such as a reference to Dark Souls Unlike other well-known products, the show embraces its affection for other media like a badge of honor and seizes any chance to weave a reference joke into the narrative. Understandably, not every anime fan will like this, but when a joke like this appears, it's difficult not to grin since My Deer Friend Nokotan seems so real with its comedy.A lot of the finest comedy anime from 2010 comes to mind while watching this series, including Nichijou, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and Mr. Osomatsu. But the comedy of the program goes beyond only making fun of other anime and video games; in episode 2, for example, Peter Parker's famous dance scene from Spider-Man 3 is mentioned.Crunchyroll is the source.Even in the most ridiculous scenes in Nokotan, Wit Studio's trademark animation skill is evident, demonstrating the studio's versatility outside of more action-packed projects like Vinland Saga and Spy x Family.
